What Is a Case You Are Most Proud Of? – Brian Hansen
Video Description
This was a case that had a lot of weaknesses. The client was already treating when the wreck occurred. None of her care was truly related to the wreck. It was just an exacerbation, but no doctors would opine on how much of a change there was. She was a client that had a tough time describing how the wreck affected her. In the end, we couldn’t get it settled. You know, the goal is always try to settle a case before you file a lawsuit. And then when it couldn’t settle, I checked with our own firm’s litigation team. I checked with four or five other firms to see if they would be interested. Once they saw the facts, they’re like, I’m not touching that case. And I felt horrible for this lady. So I litigated it and honestly thought we would lose. And we ended up settling it about two months ago for a number that I was shocked by.
I mean, it’s not a huge case, but considering the facts of her case, we were able to pay all of our medical bills off and put some money in her pocket. Hindsight is 2020. But looking at it, when I came into it, I was like, I’m going to just lose this case, but I’m gonna do it for this lady. We ended up winning and got it settled and we’re able to frame it in a way that they could show, you know, even though she was in pain before the wreck, show those differences even if they were minor and we got value out of it. So it was good.
