Fatal Collision in West Phoenix Results in Woman’s Death

In a tragic turn of events early Sunday morning, Phoenix police are conducting a thorough investigation of a fatal car accident that occurred at the intersection of 79th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.

The collision, which involved a car and a pickup truck, resulted in the death of a young woman and injuries to several others. Authorities were called to the scene around 4:15 a.m., where they discovered the critical aftermath of the two-vehicle incident.

The car contained two occupants—a man and a woman in her early 20s. Despite efforts to save her, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Simultaneously, the pickup truck’s passengers, two adults, and two children also sustained non-critical injuries and were taken to the hospital.

Police detectives have determined that the pickup truck, while moving northbound on 79th Avenue, did not adhere to the stop sign at Lower Buckeye Road. This oversight led to the pickup truck colliding with the passenger vehicle, which was headed eastbound on Lower Buckeye Road at the time.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing as police process the evidence gathered at the scene. The names of the individuals involved have not been released as the investigation continues.

Authorities are asking anyone with information on the accident to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
